The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded in 2008 with the aim of further developing the profession of translating and interpreting. It was registered as a non-governmental organisation of public interest.

The Association shall work in three sections:

  Section for Scientific and Technical Translation;
  Section for Conference Interpretation; and
  Section for Literary Translation.

 

The Association shall work on:

  • improving translation and interpretation;
  • connecting translators and interpreters on the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representing their joint rights and interests;
  • raising the level of translation and interpretation in order to protect the profession, translators and interpreters, and clients;
  • connecting with professional associations of translators and interpreters in the region and in Europe for the purposes of cooperation, exchange of experience, and membership;
  • the professional development and training of translators and interpreters.
